Five Months Old Baby Operated Successfully with Holmium Laser

Baby Manvi, a 5 months old female child was having a rare congenital anomaly of her left Kidney. There were two Kidneys on her left side (called duplex kidney), both of which were opening separately in her urinary bladder, but the problem was that one of these two kidneys was having blockade of its ureter due to a condition called ureterocele (the dilated lower part of the ureter which blocks its own passage). A big ureterocele was obstructing the passage of urinary bladder.

New Era of Laparoscopy

The dawn of new era of laparoscopy has been started and minimal invasive surgery has become more minimal. Recently, this operation has been performed successfully for the very first time in Punjab at RG Stone and Super Speciality Hospital.

In this single port cholecystestomy, state of the art imported instruments were used. After putting single incision over the abdomen; the flexible port was inserted and through the port miniature camera and miniature instruments were used to perform the surgery.

Successful Holmium Laser Surgery on Kids

15 months old baby named Jagjeevan Singh from Jagraon, presented with pain while passing urine and he was diagnosed to have two large bladder stones measuring 18 mm and 15 mm. Surgery was performed with the help of Holmium Laser and patient was discharged in 24 hours.

Child’s gall stones removed by needloscopy

A team of doctors at RG Stone and Super Speciality Hospital, successfully performed a highly advanced needloscopy operation on three and a half year old girl, Anisha for removal of gall stones. It was the first surgical procedure of its kind in Punjab.

The surgery known as “micro-invasive laparoscopic cholecystectomy or needloscopy” was performed by Dr H.S. Jolly, Chief Laparoscopic Surgeon at the centre, who was assisted by Dr Anand Sehgal, Urologist, and Dr Bhupinder Pal Singh, Consultant Anesthesiologist.

RG hospital gives new life to two despondent patients

RG Stone and Super Speciality Hospital, India’s only chain of super speciality hospitals for Urology, Joint Replacement, ENT and Laparoscopy, at Model Town, Ludhiana, announced the success of the operations on two patients for their disease, Prostate Enlargement or Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia (BPH) leading to Blockage of Urinary Passage. This is because both the patients were unsuitable candidates for surgery under previous techniques for treatment of BPH. One of the patients, Mr Sohan Singh, is 90 years old and is Anemic. The second patient, Dr HS Sandhu, is 69-year old and had Hypertension, Stroke & Cardiac Problem. It is well to note, too, that Dr. Sandhu himself is an Ophthalmologist and a retired CMO.
